Ms. Carol Edell is a certified Club Manager, certified Chief Executive, and a member of the Honor Society. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Food and Beverage.
She was employed by The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company working in locations world-wide for twelve years. She was also employed at The Country Club of Columbus in Columbus, Georgia for fourteen years. She currently is the General Manager of The Florida Yacht Club in Jacksonville, Florida since 2014.
Among Ms. Edell’s many accomplishments are the following achievements:
·Awarded the Malcolm Baldridge Award of Quality in 1992 with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company
·Significantly raised levels of culture and service at The Country Club of Columbus
She was selected by the Ritz Carlton to manage and transform the culture at that particular club.
·Successfully led the Florida Yacht Club through major renovations following extensive damage from Hurricane Irma, and turned a dramatic downturn of economic conditions during COVID-19 into one of the Club’s most successful financial periods
·Approval by membership for a multimillion-dollar project in November 2021, for a comprehensive renovation throughout the Club. As a result, Club Benchmark featured the FYC as a lead, cover story article in the Club Industry Magazine, Club Business

P/C Bob Peterson is a Past Commodore with the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs (FCYC) He has served on the FCYC Executive Committee for 11 years including positions as Education Chair, Membership Chair, Fleet Captain-West Coast, Treasurer, Secretary, Rear Commodore, Vice Commodore, Commodore and Immediate Past Commodore. He is Past Commodore at Isles Yacht Club. While a member of the club, he has also served in the positions of Fleet Captain, Rear Commodore and Vice Commodore.
P/C Peterson is the founder and CEO of TLP, Inc. Since 1985, he has served as a consultant in organizational development and management training to a wide variety of businesses and organizations, both domestically and internationally, specializing in process improvement, strategic planning, Board of Director Development, and management level training. Organizations that P/C Peterson has worked with to initiate process improvements have resulted in over $100 million dollars in either cost reductions or revenue enhancements.
P/C Peterson and his wife are both avid golfers and boaters and enjoyed travelling.

P/C John Slattery is retired as a divisional Vice President after 32 years with several Fortune 500 companies. His career included positions in finance including cash management, foreign currency trading, short and long term borrowing, investing and pension fund management. Another part of his career included Director of Human Resources in which he held top responsibility for compensation and benefits, executive compensation, executive recruiting. labor relations, safety and training. The third area of his career was manufacturing where he had total responsibility for divisions coast to coast. In addition to responsibility for the performance of those divisions, he was involved in customer and supplier relations, national accounts and liaison with industry associations.
After retirement, he took up long distance cruising and became involved with yacht clubs and boating associations. He has been a member of four yacht clubs and has held the positions of both membership and finance chair, board member, Fleet Captain, Rear Commodore, Vice Commodore, Commodore and Past Commodore. He designed and implemented a website for one club and computerized the production of their monthly newsletter. As a member of the Marine Trawler Owners Association, he served as a board member, was in charge of public relations and edited and published the four-color quarterly magazine for five years.
As a charter member of the Florida Commodores Association, he served as Secretary, Fleet Captain, Rear Commodore , Vice Commodore, Commodore, and Past Commodore in addition to publishing the quarterly Florida Commodores Journal and serving as webmaster for five years. He is a co-founder of the Learning Resources Committee and has served as a presenter since it’s inception.
He has served as president of both a Rotary and a Kiwanis club. He served as a volunteer in fire/rescue and President of the local fire company. He is a licensed pilot, certified rescue diver, and certified for off-shore sailing.
Following the 25,000+ miles of cruising his wife and he enjoyed, they switched to RV’ing and logged over 50,000 miles covering all 48 lower states and seven Canadian providences, attending a game in all 30 major league ballparks and visiting every presidential library and home.

P/C Wayne Stewart is a native Texan, born in San Antonio and raised in the small northeast Texas town of Hooks where he graduated from high school and attended Texarkana College. Wayne worked in the oil industry for a short time before being called into the United States Army.
In the United States Army, he earned his aviator wings and commission and began his career in aviation. Almost from the beginning of his career, he began either instructing ground school or flight training.
After leaving the military, he went into civil aviation and worked as a civilian instructor pilot for the U. S. Army. After two years, he began his career with the airlines and shortly after being hired, he was offered a job as an instructor pilot because of his experience in training. Eventually, he was offered the job of Manager of Training for a major airline. In his 58-year career in aviation, he was involved in either ground instruction, simulator training or flight training before his retirement.
He has accumulated some thirty thousand (30,000) hours of flying working in the capacity of Flight Engineer, First Officer, Captain, Flight Instructor, Check Captain, Manager of Training and Director of Operations. He has also served on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the airline.
As well as being a retired Airline Captain, he holds a United States Coast Guard license and is a licensed Captain qualified to operate steam or motor vessels up to one hundred (100) tons.
He has been a member of a yacht club for 46 continuous years, he presently is a member of the Halifax River Yacht Club where he has served as a Board Member, Secretary, Rear Commodore, Vice Commodore and Commodore. He was awarded the FCA Four Star Commodore Award for his accomplishments during that time. Also, he is a Past Commodore of the Florida Commodores Association. Presently, he is serving as Chairman of Education and Best Practices for the Florida Council of Yacht clubs.
He and his wife, Eloise live in Orlando, Florida and are avid boaters.

Mel Folbrecht Jr. worked 17 years in the restaurant industry. After several management positions, Mel accepted a position of Vice President of S&S Food Management. While at S&S, Mel helped oversee the design and development of restaurant cost controls, operational procedures, training, and motivational and managerial bonus programs of 17 restaurants. Mel, through S&S, also provided consultation service for other restaurant operators.
From 1985 to the latter part of 2020, Mel was President and co-owner of three businesses which specialized in fire protection. After selling his fire protection interests, he became a member of
Pelican Yacht Club. Mel became a board member of Pelican Yacht Club serving as Treasurer and is currently Vice Commodore. During his tenure as Treasurer, he redesigned the food inventory and product cost document, generated standard operating procedures for the above functions, and trained administrative staff. He advised the executive chef of daily food cost changes. Additionally, he performed food cost and plate cost analysis, initiated small plate entree items, and redesigned P&L statements to improve accuracy.
Mel participated in development of the building and grounds improvement program and subsequently, made 12 power point presentations to promote the program. The board ultimately raised $1.5 million needed to accommodate the building and grounds program.
Mel is a past president and current member of the Fire Equipment Dealers Association and NFPA member. He is a past board member of the Associated General Contractors and the Florida Restaurant Association.
Mel attended Indian River State College, Florida State University, Barry University and Florida State Fire College. Mel continues to hold a Florida state fire protection license initially obtained in 1986. Additional studies include the completion and certification from "Profit Mastery," a finance program.
Mel has been married to Lucy Folbrecht for 56 years, has one son, two grandchildren, and one great grandson. Mel also served honorably in the U.S. Air Force 1967-1972, stationed at Shu Lin Kou AFB in Taipei, Taiwan.
